Harlee and Brenton (A.K.A. 'Boy') were married at Linga Longa Estate on the 19th of January 2019 in an intimate ceremony by the picturesque Old Hay Shed. Their beautiful day was captured by the talented team at Maternal Moments Photography.
After viewing a number of location, the couple's florist recommended Linga Longa Estate as an all-in-one venue, and as Harlee says, "sheesh, we are so glad we listened!". The couple ended up taking advantage of the facilities, with their guests camping at the venue following the celebrations
According to the bride, "the best part of the day was seeing the ceremony and reception areas set up with all the wonderful help we had. It looked incredible.
To help bring the couple's relaxed bohemian vibe to life was Lara of Bos Tents and Events, a regular presence at Longa Longa.
All of the flowers used were one hundred percent local, in season and organic, with most having been harvested from Lara's own flower farm. As it happened to be one of the hottest days of the year, she focused on keeping things feeling fresh with lots of textural greenery.
For pops of colour Lara added a mix of Blue Hydrangea, Banksia, Dahlia, Bleeding heart - Amaranthus, Zinnia, Wild Leek Seed heads, Pincushion Flowers and Love in the Mist .
The ceremony was intimate and emotional, highlighting the importance of family. Firstly, the bridal party walked down the aisle, with the best man carrying Harlee and Boy's young son in his arms, followed by their two little girls walking hand in hand. Finally, Harlee and Boy walked down the aisle together to an ethereal rendition of The Proclaimers "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" They were married beneath a unique bamboo teepee, made by Boy himself!
Despite the fact that due to emergency surgery three days prior to the wedding, the groom had to wear a hand and wrist cast and his ring no longer fit, it was a truly magical occasion!
For the reception, Harlee and Boy opted for a relaxed, outdoor setting in Linga Longa's alfresco dining area, taking advantage of the views overlooking the lake. A group of close friends helped out with the decorating and setting up of guest seating as well as a grazing table.
Their catering was provided by Pip Mills of Bridgetown Pottery & Restaurant.
Dessert came in the form of cheesecake squares (groom's choice), as well as a citrus and almond cake (bride's choice). Both were lovingly made by one of Harlee's bridesmaids. Also on offer were a selection vegan chocolates supplied by Loving Earth.
When it came time for entertainment, Jeremy, also of Bos Tents and Events was on hand to create the perfect atmosphere.
If Harlee had one piece of advice for future couples tying the knot, it would be to invest in capturing the special moments from your big day.
"Price can get in the way of having a professional photographer. We all know weddings can get very expensive but whatever you do, do not skimp on the photographer! Find the right one with the right training. We had the best crew who captured it all perfectly. It was worth every cent."
Having sourced the majority of their key vendors through extensive facebook searches, Harlee found there were a few who stood out.
"Linga Longa's Bec and Boxer went absolutely above and beyond in helping to create an amazing, calm and beautiful space for us. They were always willing to chat and help out with handy suggestions. You couldn't ask for better people to host weddings."
"Our photographer came out months prior to make sure we both were on the same page about where we wanted photos and what we were looking hoping to get from her. Rae and Kellie did an incredible job and worked very hard to perfectly capture what we had discussed."
From everyone here at Linga Longa, we would like wish Harlee and Brenton a huge congratulations and thank you for sharing your special days with us. May your future be overflowing with love and happiness!
